    can a faster hd be put into the new dv5000t ?

    if so what options are there?

    There are many places that sell notebook HDDs (2.5"), such as Newegg. They range from 20GB to 120GB, and from 4200RPM to 7200RPM. Just open the cover on your computer marked with a hard drive logo. Remove the HDD + bracket, and remove the HDD. Replace it with your new hard drive, and replace the bracket and cover. I'm pretty sure that's what you do, but you should wait for others to respond. This will void your warranty.
