i'm thinking about buying a dv5t, but my only concern is the battery
    with the 12-cell, i believe it's off-center (as in this dv5000t review: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=47042)
is it? and if so, does the notebook lean to the side when you apply pressure to the side opposite the battery?

    tia!

Well, the battery will be off center, but I believe the protrusion is not big enough that will cause the laptop to lean if you put pressure on the front. If you put pressure on the back where the battery is, it probably will lean, but because of the distance, torque (i believe? forgot my physics terms) will make it so the pressure is lessened and thus not enough to make it lean.

    not lean front to back
    lean left to right
as in if i press on the far left side, will the computer tilt to the left?

I did mean left to right... The force applied on the front is lessened on the back because of torque. So, if you apply force on the front/where most of the keyboard is, it won't give out enough force on the back to make it lean either way.

For regular typing on the keyboard it shouldn't be a problem but if you press hard enough then it will naturally tilt.

how long will the hi-cap 6 cell last for regular use?
how long for gaming like half-life 2?

because the big chunk of crap hanging out is going to be a problem and annoyance for me, so i'm going with the hi-cap 6.

what can i do to increase the life? (besides turn down the brightness, turn off wireless/bluetooth, turn off aero, etc)

Probably 2 hrs at max if ure lucky, most likely shorter depending on graphics, btw this assumes u turned off other stuff. That will be the case for pretty much all laptops unless you plan on dishing like 3k, aka stupid to use battery for gaming, take adapter with you, unless of course you plan on gaming for 1-2 hrs.

Btw, these aren't forums for 5 year old idiots, refrain from being an idiot, such as your previous post that was removed by administrator.
