    hi,

I was trying to connect my Sony camcorder to the dv5t and was surprised to see that i have no Firewire port on it :(

I want to buy a Firewire ExpressCard but can't figure out what will fit, what type of card should I look for?

    Thx,

    yuval.

Any firewire expresscard 34 or 54 will fit in hp's expresscard 54mm slot.

The cheapest one on Newegg is 14 dollars.

    Yes as above.

Only the dv5t's with a dedicated gpu come with firewire and gigabit ethernet.

    Its absurd.

I'm interested to know which expresscard you go with as I am in the same boat. I have one question to add in. Is it worth it to buy a Firewire 800 card? The only thing I use Firewire for is my digital video camera and for that I just use a regular ole 4-pin Firewire cable. Yuvalw, if you get your's before I do let me know your review of it and if I buy one sooner I will tell you what I choose and how I like it!

I have the HP dv5t with 9600GT graphics upgrade. I don't see a firewire port in the machine.

I find it odd firewire has been standard since dv5000 serries which was in 2006 and now they decided you dont deserve it anymore.
