Hi all! I just bought a dv5t yesterday. A question regarding the dual headphones jack...

I have one jack connected to my headphones, and the other connected to my speaker system. I would like to control their volume independently (from the notebook itself). Is there a way? Thanks ahead!

I don't think so unless they are connected to different sound cards.
I've seek headphones with a built-in volume control and external speakers should have their own control.

I don't think you can do what you're asking for, but you can adjust the volume based off the application the sound is coming from using Vista's volume control in the system tray. :)

It's too bad it can't be done... I had hoped to plug my 5.1's front speakers to one jack, and the rear speakers to another jack. I wanted to boost the rear speaker's sound as they're farther from me than the front ones are.

Anyway, thanks for your replies, Evaders99 and dannyres!
