I've had this issue for about a week now. My battery will not charge even though I just got it about 2-3 months ago from HP while my laptop was still under warranty. When I hover over the battery status it tells me 0% available (plugged in, charging) but no matter what I do it won't charge. I've tried charging this battery on my other dv5t with a different AC adapter, but the same thing is happening. Are there any tricks or anything that I can do? This is a new battery and for it to die after 2-3 months just doesn't make sense. HP battery check tells me the battery health is Good.

If the laptop is too hot the battery charging is suspended. Does the battery charge when the computer is turned off?

I had no idea that it would ever do that because of the heat, my laptops are usually on and get really hot. After letting it cool off the battery started charging again. Thank you very much for your help, good to know I don't need a replacement!

Thanks sean473, but I'm good with what I have :)

Does anyone know how I can get this dv5t not to overheat so much?
Lately it's been getting worser, but that's probably because of the warm weather.
