I just pulled the trigger on a dv5t. I upgraded the processor, memory,
hard drive, wifi card, and battery. Total cost, inluding the 3-year HP
warranty, and Illinois tax, was $1035. Thanks to the forum, I was also
able to use the special coupon, for an additional $43 savings.

I am really looking forward to my new dv5t. It's a great machine at
    at great price.

Sounds like you got a good deal. :)

Would you mind posting the complete specs?

Here you go. My primary goal was a PC with good speed, good storage
capability, and good battery life. Since I don't game, I went for the
integrated graphics, which consumes less power than a dedicated card.

Go to HP and you will see a list of free upgrades for the dv5t. They also
    have a $100-off instant coupon. I used coupon code NB3089, which I
found on this forum, for an additional 5% discount. Another bonus, right
    now, is free shipping.

I believe the upgrades are only good through 7/28, but it's possible they
will have some new deals in the near future.

I think the specs are really good for the price I paid. I will be posting
a bunch of photos as soon as I get the dv5t.
