Sigh. I so regret buying this notebook.

Anyway, I sent my dv5t back to HP to fix the screen flickering/fading to black. They sent it back in a week, and it seemed fine. For a couple days. After reloading much of my data and programs, the screen flickered again. It's not as bad as it was prior to my sending it back, but it happened nonetheless.

They re-imaged my hard drive, which I didn't think should be necessary for a hardware problem, but I had moved my data just in case. The packing slip said they were able to duplicate the problem, for which I was glad, but if they duplicated it, why isn't it fixed?!

Is it possible that it's not a hardware issue? Could it be one of my programs is conflicting with something else, causing the screen to wig? I really don't have anything unusual on the pc... primarily MS Office, Photoshop Elements, Firefox, iTunes.

Is there something I can do to try to isolate this problem before contacting HP again, sending my pc back again, backing up all my data & reinstalling my programs again?? (I had connected it to an external monitor, and that did not flicker or fade, while the dv5t did.)

On a brighter note ... at least my notebook came back in the same physical shape...not scratched up like some other members' pcs.

Is there anything else I can check for this problem, rather than send it back to HP? Thanks.
