Whenever I bring my dv5t out of a low power state (ie. hibernation, sleep, etc) or if the screen is shut off automatically to conserve power, when i bring it back up it seems darker than usual and after i restart the notebook it seems normal, nice and bright.

    anyone else notice this?
    is it just me?
    solutions?

Check to see what your power saving settings are. Changing power settings from Performance to Max Battery Savings will reduce the brightness(the screen is one of the biggest draw from the battery)

same with my hp 8510p. I guess there's no need to worry since functionality is not affected.
