    dv5t sound problem

    I'm facing a problem with sound. Some time sound is not working and Windows media player gimme me sound error. After sometime the problem solves automatically. i don't know why this behavior is ? any solutions ?

    have you tried updating/reloading the sound driver?

    yeah i 've reinstalled the driver. but problem still exists :confused:

    dv4-1120us.
    sound problem with XP SP2 OS.
    i can play music file but no sound.
    what's problem? hardware? driver sound card?

    it could be hardware or software problem. can you go to your device manager and look for the item and see if there's an exclamation mark next to it?

    I think it might be a hardware issue. I got my dv5t and it was working fine until i tried to connect a microphone to it. I couldn't get any sound out of it and then my speakers started making this loud clicking noise.

    I tried reinstalling the drivers, updating the bios, nothing worked. It mysteriously went away after a week or so, but now randomly if im listening to music it will make strange noises and then i dont get anymore sound. It will work again after a reboot but it doesn't last long.
