    hi everyone
i accidently forgot my notebook in my car for about 15 minutes today
and i think the heat may have damaged my sound card in my dv5t

because now when i was playing Counterstrike before my headphones all of a sudden sounded distorted after a few minutes
i restarted teh notebook, did a static check, and tried again and its the same problem
but when i play music through itunes its no problem :/
ive been on this notebook today about an hour and 45 minutes in the problem came up

is it my computer or something else? the speakers on the notebook seem to work fine.

edit: My sound gets totally messed up when playing CSS, i did a snd_restart in console in CSS but its still funky with gun shots, but when i exit my sound goes back to normal.

If the sound is only affected when playing CSS and goes back to normal in Widnows mode, then I doubt that you're soundcard was damaged. Try uninstalling and re-installing CSS.

Unless I am reading your story wrong.

Heat damage manifests itself in very unpredictable ways and one of those ways is intermittent problems. If all you did in the interim between leaving it in the car for 15 minutes was to launch CSS then its possible.

All I'm saying is I wouldn't rule it out.

But at the very least you could try is to re-install
