So i have experienced the 2, first one T9400 now a P8600. I don't really do anything intensive for the CPU, but this P8600 seems slower than i thought it would have. I downgraded because I thought i didn't need it and the heat would just cause problems, but that was before i had a cooler and knew how to undervolt. Now with undervolting and a cooler the temps are cool. Now, UAC seems slower to pop up... really just overall is slower but its odd since i barely run any CPU intensive things.

I'm thinking about returning this, and using the $500 coupon. I lose no money, and get an upgrade. Or maybe I do lose money if I ask for a 100$ credit, but really I am more concerned about a good laptop.

aespinalc - that's covered in the undervolting guide by flipfire.

chango - if you can upgrade and not lose money, then I say you should go for it.

Well, the issue is, do I need it? The T series will also use more power and produce more heat, so i'm not exactly sure yet. I won't lose exactly lose money, because I can possibly call for a credit instead, but i'm not sure if they would notice that my config does not qualify since it doesn't reach the 1399.99$.

Anybody got any other opinions? Should it really be affecting my UAC so much, my UAC seems so much slower now... All I do most of the time is surf the web, and the only game I currently play is WC3. As I stated, nothing really CPU intensive.

Well, it's not like you open a program that pops UAC up 24/7. As an alternative, you can turn UAC off.

Very true but every time it pops up I just really notice that slowness. I'm not ready to risk turning off uac just yet. Probably never will.

the $30 is well worth the increase in screen res + better graphics card. I would definately go for the dv5t.
