    Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can confirm if the powerbrick of the dv5z or dv5t is auto-switching, or is it only 110 volt?
Thanks if you can help. :)

I don't know what auto-switching is but this is what is on my dv5 1003nr has on the power brick. It's the amd model.

    HP part no. 384021-001

replace with hp spare 391173-001 (on back of power brick)

replace with Hp spare 463956-001 (sticker on front of power brick)

It also says in fine print on back
    input:100-240V~2.4A(2,4A) 50-60Hz
    output:19V ( 19V) 4.74A(4,74A)

Yes its can do both 110v and 240v. If your going overseas, you might need to get a travel adapter so the prongs will match.

Hey thanks! Just what I was looking for! I asked HP TS, and he said only 120/240V, so I hope you're right.
I am going overseas, that's why I asked. But getting a new plug is no problem. :)
cat_mom, autoswitching just means, it supports a variety of voltages and auto adjusts depending on what plug you're using. :) Like going from 120 to 230 or whatever. :)
