    Hey all,

anyone out there w/ a dv5z that got a laptop skin? I figure since i spent alot of money i might as well customize it and get a nice skin. so far i'm thinking about this one...

anyone out there with a skin already, have one and could you tell me if you're happy with it, does it come off easily, is it cheap looking, does it look like part of the laptop?

    thanks,

    Jason

My last laptop the dv2500 had a skin on it from skin it, and it was excellent. It didnt look cheap, many people commented on it and loved it. It protected the laptop from getting some crazy scratches and it also came off easy. If you get something that has a black background and you do a good job applying it then you will not be able to tell that there is even anything on it. Most people that saw mine thought it was actually a part of the laptop cover. Ill look for some pictures of it and post them and you can judge yourself. Good investment overall. Im planning on getting one for my dv4t once i figure out exactly what i want.

    Hi,
I have the dv5z as well.
I noticed that you said you bougth one from skin it.
I have found that skin it does not yet make one that fits the dv5z. I noticed that the link you attached was for a dv6000 series notebook.
It doesn't look like it will fit your dv5z well.
I would love to get a skin for my dv5z but I have not found a company that will make one for this exact model yet and I don't want to get a generic one that you can tell does not fit exactly.
    Thanks
    Dave

I got a black skin, so it looks almost like it was part of the laptop. See included pic... http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj235/roninmagik1/IMG00040.jpg

The exact item i ordered from skinit was :

    Peace-Harmony
    For: Gen15X

Just the generic 15 inch skin. I figured i'd have to cut it but as you can see from the pic, i just slapped it on and i was good =)

Oh, one thing though, it covers up the little hp symbol that lights up when you turn on the laptop. That part sucks, as i liked seeing the glowing hp symbol.
