    Hello everyone,

I have a dv6 6001sg notebook and tried to update the bios to enable the fixed graphics mode. After doing so I have no option to switch the graphic mode in the BIOS. Its very strange to me.
When I do [fn] + [esc] the BIOS version is F.1A.
Has anyone a similar experience and could help me to solve this problem?
    Thank you in advance.

I don't think the 6001 needs the mode to be switched in the BIOS. It's only the 61XX models.

Ok then I missundstood the switching issue. I tought I can select the graphic card in the bios. This feature would be nice, because I run in a lot of trouble trying to use Linux on my dv6.

Nope, fixed mode just means that you can swap between the cards manually or when you change AC power states (plugged vs unplugged). The 61xx defaults to dynamic (per application) switching, which doesn't work very well with OpenGL apps at the moment.

Switching the video card in Windows and rebooting is currently the best (only?) way to switch the card in other OSs on the dv6-6000
