    Hi!
I got my hp dv6 last Monday, so it's quite new. About three days ago I downloaded System Information for Windows trying to find out which was my GPU temp(what I didn't find, it only shows only HDD and CPU temp) and looking other stuff I noticed that my battery wear off was 7% while the battery is(was?) :) also new, so it got me preoccupied, so I checked it again yesterday and it was 9%!, I checked today and it's at 10%. Just c'mon I don't dedicate all my free time to plug and unplug the battery ,so why the fcuk(note there's no grammatical error) it wears off so quickly, any thoughts or tips about that? Thanks.

Offtopic, but GPU-z and GPU-tool are also quite efficient in displaying the temperattures of the GFX cards.

Well,I did't want to continue the off topic, but same here, can't get the temp from them, I guess I'll have to get Everest ultimate.
Edit: Yes, Everest does show the temp, the sensors are diode-type maybe because of that other programs didn't show them.

Yeah get Everest Ultimate 5. The battery wear level displayed by it is pretty accurate. My battery wear level was already at 20% when I bought my Pavilion 2 years back. Now it is at 67%. The battery back up time has come down to 55 mins.(power saving mode) from the initial 2.25 hrs.

I once had a battery with a wear level of 91%. It gave 5 minutes on "Power Saver"

Well, it's bit disappointing that a new battery is at 10% wear off, but still better than 91% ;), well I guess I will have to accept the things the way the are :), thanks guys.

sadly your right, HP won't warrant a battery for replacement based on wear unless it fails the battery test. I would like to be optimistic about their "Green Environment" or whatever its called battery that has a 3 year warranty but, I have not seen one yet, I think they are just accessories and they're not shipping them out standard on new units just yet.

Exactly the battery has to be defective, then only it is liable to be changed according to HP's terms and conditions. Wear of battery is normal and is dependent on a lot of factors.
