My dog stepped on my wifes laptop screen and cracked it. I purchased a replacement screen, and installed it.

Upon getting the computer back together, the keyboard is not working. I have some questions about the keyboard. When I removed it, the service manual said to move the keyboard removal button to the right. I saw no keyboard removal button at all. I managed to get the keyboard out, but I still could not find the button. What does it look like?

Secondly- the keyboard is supposed to have a zero insertion force cable to attach it to the system board. When I removed the keyboard, the cable came loose with it, and I didn't have to do anything to disconnect it. Does this mean that the cord was torn or ripped out?

Thanks for all of your assistance, I hope I was being descriptive enough.
