Uhh, if you get a B2 stepping of Intel's chipset, your SATA ports will degrade over time.. but they should have gotten rid of all the B2 steppings. I'm not 100% sure about the dv6-6080ee model. If you're from the US, just get the CTO-6100 version.

Sorry, I don't know the specs of the dv6-6080ee. You can't tell if its B2 or B3 stepping until you have the product. You can check once you have it (either physically looking at the chip or through software methods). If you buy it from HP directly, they should not be selling you B2. If you buy it off Ebay or other third party, there is a chance that you receive B2. This issue affects the high speed SATA ports which are ports used to connect bluerays, hard drives etc... The degradation will affect your data throughput.

all the 6xxx series are not affected. the flaw only applies to the handful of dv6t-4000 series that were produced in january. the 6xxx series wasn't released until mid march.

I have 6090 which should similar to 6080 except minor changes.
overall the laptop has good specification, excellent CPU/GPU, plenty of ram, etc.

build quality is not top of the line; some keyboard flex, average screen and speakers.
concern heat output; during gaming "The Witcher 2", my CPU reaches (88-91C) and GPU (82 C), but changing Hp CoolSence setting from performance to coolest decrease CPU temp. to (77-81C) and GPU (76 C) without any performance hit.
