A couple of months ago my laptop screen was impacted by a heavy piece of wood.. long story.

Basically the impact caused my screen to not work anymore. There's visible cracks, flickers, and the screen shell has a large chip in it right above the webcam (surprisingly the webcam still works).

I'm using an HD monitor right now to use my laptop, but since I am at a college campus it's highly inconvenient that I cannot bring my laptop around with me.

I've recently been looking for a replacement screen but I can't find an exact match for my laptop. I have a 1080p 15.6" dv6-6100 according to the CustMod under the battery, but it has beats audio with a i7 quad core.

The screens I've found say they are compatible with the laptop, but do not have the correct resolution. My laptops resolution is 1920x1080, and most of the screens provided on the online market are 1366x768. I haven't found one 15.6" screen that matches my 1920x1080 res laptop.

Is there anywhere I'm not looking? Or should I find a local shop to take care of it? Regarding my webcam, what will happen to it once I replace the screen? Will I be able to implement my webcam into the new screen?

You could look for the AUO B156HW01 V4. It's one of the best 15.6" 1920x1080 displays available in color saturation, and it is compatible with the HP DV6.

Sending you a PM with the link.

Awesome, thanks for the reply +rep to edit1754.

One last question, will I still be able to use my webcam when I replace the screen?
