I'm wondering if the A8-3530MX will work in my dv6-6135dx and if so, will 1600MHz DDR3 work as well?

Let me know when and how the upgrade goes if you are going to do it?

I have a A8-3530MX on the way, should have it by next week.

I am interested in how the DDR3-1600 works out. I not that keen on paying extra to change DDR3-1333 CL9 and upgrade to DDR3-1600 CL11, feel that CL11 may hold it back somewhat, unless the GPU cares more about bandwidth rather than latency. CL11 is the cheapest option I have.

Hopefully the yet to be announced 3550MX will work as well.

T2050 I agree with you, upgrade from a CL9 1333 to CL11 1600 will probably only yield insignificant performance gain.

That's why I'm looking for some CL9 DDR3 1600 that doesn't require Intel's XMP. If anyone has found some, please let me know.

Is there a release date for the A8-3550MX? I'm guessing it's a 2.0GHz part, something I'm sure the A8-3530MX will do easily.

From my experience 1600 CL9 doesn't do much either, unless you plan on gaming with the iGPU only.

I had a couple g.skill 1600mhz CL9 sticks a couple months back and the performance differences in crossfire were minimal.

It's not the iGPU I'm worried about as much as the iGPU taking priority over the CPU for memory bandwidth. Besides, every little bit helps.

I am getting this laptop as payment, I want to upgrade to the3550x also, has anyone done this can you post pics or give me some advice, like where to buy the 3550x. I dont care about the faster ram that much, but how would I enable the faster ram.
