Ok story dont matter but it seems something is messed up
All I know is next time ill make a back image :D

Every time I put my recovery disks in I get a error that the disk are not meant for this computer

Hard drive is different the old hard drive is not a option anymore because its basically destroyed
Windows loads fine and everything but its my own install of windows 7 pro

I have some question I would really like some help with

    1. A.)The reason I want this recovery to work is I want my computer back to default settings in case something bad happens.... bad bios flash etx...
Is the hp tools partion restored from the recovery disk? Can I build it myself?

B.) Is there any way to get hp tools back I have no backup for it unless its on recovery dvds.

C.)Is hp tools the only way to recover from a bad bios flash

    Question 2
    Fixing my recovery disk
I have been reading a lot about other people having this issue
Seems to be something related to the dmi? not matching for the recovery
    disk
Which tool is usable on my computer... any friendly tutorial?

I dont know if anyone ran into this error before but I am trying to see if recovery saves a log file
It flashes the dos screen so quick that i cant read whats going on

I have the same problem. Its extremely annoying. When trying to use the built-in recovery (f11 at boot) it gives some error like c0x000000225 or something. *sigh* =-( imma try to reburn the recovery image and see if that works.

is it 'illegal' to reset the 'burn count' of HP recovery wizard?
If not i can post instructions on it, if so *shrug* :(

Ok well i fixed the issue i was having.

The 6135dx has a "model" of lua262UA#ABA or something like that. the refurb units get "tatooed" with the same thing, except it adds an R so "lua262uaR#aba"
The recovery media (and partition) looks for the ua. I changed the recovery media/partition to look for R instead, and now it works flawlessly.

I cannot give instructions because as i understand, its against NBR's TOS to give such info on modification of such things.

Not against TOS if it corrects something that doesn't work as intended. There's nothing wrong with modifying your machine as long as it doesn't promote illegal activity (i.e. piracy). Tons of mods and hacks have been posted on these forums. Unless HP offers up free recovery media or a way to fix it, it will only help others.

    Hi Laymur,
Are you asking for instructions on how to complete a recovery or are you having problems with your recovery media (discs)?
