Ok, the exact model number is dv6188ea.
I had BIOS version F8, it was running fine until I decided to update it to get rid of the annoying high-pitch sound. So I downloaded the latest BIOS version F16 and it flashed succefully until it restarted and crashed with a Blue Screen Error: Stop 0x0000007b, with something about checking the hard disk for errors and viruses. The error comes right after the windows logo shows up with the loading bar.
I did a check disk through the BIOS and it didnt come up with anything wrong.
I used the recovery discs to attempt a Repair but that did not help.
    Please help!
