My dv6000s screen just gave up on me. When I start the computer half the screen is white/grey and the other half is black. I cannot see anything else on the screen.

I tried putting a cd with music into the cd-drive and it autostarted the music, so obviously the HD and windows is working.

I couple of months ago the screen showed strange colours when I entered windows but I managed to fix that by reinstalling the drivers from windows save mode. This time that isnt possible since I cannot see anything on the screen.

Any clues? All tips are appreciated!

Hook it up to an external desktop monitor or even an LCD TV (with VGA input) and see if that works. If so then you most likely have a broken LCD screen.
