    Hi all,

I just updated my Quickplay driver from the website. Now, i have this bar on my screen that shows the volume, and when i try to change the volume while playing World of Warcraft, it minimizes it. So, I want to disable this feature, and I dont know how. I cannot find any file called ehtray or anything. Also, when I change the volume, using the buttons, they make a tone, that I hate. Is there any way to change that too? Thanks all.

i got a dv9000 and it doesnt have the quickplay driver that shows the volume onscreen but for the sound when u press the buttons, this feature is in the bios but i dunno if its a feature thats new to my bios which so far isnt on the hp site or a general feature that was always in the bios options.

If you have the latest BIOS then there should be an option to disable the QP button sounds.

Hey bro, I had the same problem as you on Windows XP, when I would adjust sound within a game, it would minimize it, it was so annoying. In Vista, it no longer brings up the volume bar on the screen, so in a game I'm able to adjust sound without minimzing it, it's pretty sweet. I think what you need to do is remove "ehtray.exe" from Startup (go to Start, msconfig, and uncheck ehtray.exe)

Also, like the others have said, the noise can be disabled in the BIOS, make sure you have the latest one from HP's website.

    Good luck
