My DV6000 wont run off the power cord unless I take the battery out...at which point the computer shuts off, and I have to reboot with the battery out, but as soon as I put the battery in it starts draining it, completely ignoring the power cord...This thing is driving me nuts! The battery is a new 12 cell battery. The old 6 cell does the same thing. But lasts half as long, the first battery I had doesn't hold a charge at all....

Is this just HP showing what crap they build?

has anyone got any kind of solution for this? I'd like it to run off the AC when its plugged in, and off the battery when its not. As long as its continually draining the battery its not going to last a year.
