I have three jump drives and they all work in vista and when I take them out of the usb port the proper way safely remove the hardware. Then I shut the notebook off, I get a blue screen. this happens every time I use the jump drives
-
I'm not too sure where to start here, but does it also happen when you just yank the drives out of the laptop without 'safely removing the hardware?' Are you using them as ReadyBoost drives?
-
it might be because they are under readyboost mode, otherwise they should be ok.
double check that they ARE NOT being used for readyboost on your next boot -
After troubleshooting this problem and the fact that all my jump drives work with my desktop pc in vista I have a video card problem thread stuck device driver Q 293078 Hp support as usual is no help. I think a third grade student knows as much as a tech in HP . I have owned a few notebooks in my time and all the HP ones have had problems with drivers and there software. the Nvidia geforce go 7400 is a problem in vista. I have a duel boot system on this notebook and have no problems in XP. Half my software does not work in vista. That's why the duel boot. I wonder if a new video card would fix this problem.

Just spent three hours with HP support online and they can't solve the problem.
There standard answers are update the bios and do a complete restore. The video driver is at fault. I think while I still have a window to return this notebook I will and then give santa rosa a try when it comes out. HP sucks -

I have 4 jump drives two work with this notebook they are kingston 2gb and a lexar 128 mb and I have two that do not one is a i/o magic 6gb and a lexar 512 secure drive that i even reformatted. I also have a emachines with Vista that works great with the 4 jump drives. On my Dv6000t I have a duel boot and the 4 jump drives work great in XP. There is something with the ge force 7400 video driver. I bet if I had the other video card that you could get with this notebook the jump drives would work with vista.
That's Ok I will just return the notebook and get the new intel processor when it comes out in may. -
I have sent a report to nvidia to there vista quality assurance department. I lot of people have problems with gaming and using nvidia in vista and getting the Q293078 error

Did anybody use this site for drivers laptopvideo2go? anyway they do not have a nvidia update driver. I will see if i get feedback from nvidia
-
In a couple of other threads, dv6000t posters express a lot of satisfaction with the updated Tweaks R Us ( http://www.tweaksrus.com) drivers for NVIDIA.

Thanks for all the input but none of these sites say the updated drivers are for the geforce go 7400. When I read the manual on these updated drivers none of them say anything about the geforce (go) 7400 especially 7400 go I hope to get feed back from NVIDIA soon
