    - 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

    for like $1104 after rebates

The specs for the intel 1 is

Both are nice notebooks, the differences between the two are,

    - The Core 2 Duo is faster then the Turion X2 at similar clock speeds (substantially in a 32bit environment, less so in a 64bit environment)
    - The GF7400 GO is substantially better then the GF7200 GO but neither is top of the line and will require settings to be lowered in newer games. The GF7200 GO more so then the GF7400 GO.
    - The 20GB HDD is an obvious bonus for the AMD notebook.
    - I'm not sure when, if ever, you will be using lightscribe but it is a nice gimmick for the AMD.

In the end I would say the Intel has the performance edge and that is even when including the $100 extra you pay for it. If you are at all interrested in performance then go for the Intel notebook. If you want to pay less I would advize getting a slightly slower CPU from AMD. That could save you a bundle. If you don't want to comprimise on your gaming performance try and look for a Notebook with either an X1600 or a GF7600 GO.

    Hope I helped

You probably won't notice any difference in the CPU, but the GPU... if you game, you probably will, otherwise it's irrelevant.

I'm curious when the 7200 and 7400 GPU's were developed, any idea?
I'm not concerned about gaming, but I'm concerned about their ability to run the Aero glass. They are all listed as Vista capable, but that doesn't give me a good vibe.

If you're not going to play games you should probably stick with dv6000z(If your dv6000t isn't shipped yet).
Core 2 Duo is faster than Turion X2 under 32bit and Turion X2 is faster under 64bit so there wouldn't be a huge difference between processers.

    By the way for those who don't know, Best Buy has a great deal on DV6000z this week. $1200 with no rebates for the following specs;

    AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56
2048MB DDR2 memory, 120GB hard drive, reads and writes DVDs and CDs, LightScribe disc labeling technology**, nVIDIA® GeForce™ GO 7200 graphics, intergated 802.11g wireless LAN and Web cam with integrated microphone. 15.4" BrightView™
    Widescreen (DV6045NR)

Both the 7200 and 7400 are current-generation nVidia parts and easily Aero Glass capable. Even the 6150 shared-memory GPU can do Aero Glass. It's the Intel shared-memory GPUs that tend not to be Aero Glass capable (the GMA950 is supposed to be but it's still weaker than what ATI and nVidia make).

That dv6045nr is an outstanding deal. Apparently a lot of other people think so too because all 6 of my regional stores have been sold out for a couple of weeks.

They are popular computers for sure, but the real issue is that the BB warehouses simply do not have any, i.e. HP is not currently shipping any real quantity of either the dv6000 or dv2000 to Best Buy. Most stores got an initial shipment of 3-5 of each model, another shipment of 5-7 about a week later, and haven't had anything beyond that for about 3 weeks now. Unfortunately there is no real way for the stores to tell when they will be receiving more as this is a distribution issue from HP, not something that's internal to BB.

Enough is a difficult word. The GF7200 Go can run HL2 bur not at it's highest settings. Same goes for Doom3. Even with the GF7400 Go you will not be able to turn on all eye candy in top end games. If you are a serious gamer or simply want to play the newest games at, or close to, their highest detail level neither of these notebooks is for you. Find one with a X1600 or GF 7600 Go.

That said with some compromises to detail levels you will be able to game on the GF 7400 Go. The GF 7200 Go does not seem the to be the card for you. Slightly older game will run fine but new FPS are going to have serious problems.
