About 2 weeks after our warranty expired, our computer started making
'clicking' noises, if that's how you describe it. For a while, if we positioned the computer right, or gently squeezed the left side of the laptop, just to the left of the escape key, the noise would stop.

It doesn't seem to be the hard drive, and it definitely seems to be the speakers, but turning the volume down or speakers off just doesn't seem to work.

And now, not only is there clicking when I log on, the computer makes a few chimes [one of the default windows alert sounds] too... though the chiming eventually stops.

Also, when I play a DVD, the sound is VERY choppy (the graphics appear to be fine). This is not a problem with YOUTUBE or any internet video streaming that I use.. the sound works fine in those situations.

Finally, this may be unrelated, but the dvd player is now just randomly opening for no reason.

A lot of weird issues that are hard for me to get a handle on. HP was not willing to help after our warranty expired. I'm getting tired of these computer companies.. HP in particular.

    Any advice?
