My dv6000t will come out of sleep mode by itself during the night. (I'm about as bad, but that's another story ;).) I know I've read about this issue, but I can't seem to find the threads. At any rate, I awaken to find my computer on, or, if I've left it unplugged, with the battery drained.

My bios is F.16, and all the drivers are supposedly up to date. I don't have an external mouse, and I've cut off the wireless button with no effect upon this anomaly.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks much,
    Bill

It most probably is ur anti-virus. check to see wat time the scan has been set to and change it to a day time event or something. If its not the ant-virus, check for any other software set to update at nite, it may be waking up ur machine for these updates.

Mine for some reason wakes up to switch from stand-by to hibernation...Haven't had a chance to look it up yet.

Thanks, vap87. I've checked my antivirus/firewall and HP Health Care auto scans, but neither is the culprit. I'm not sure what other programs have been set to auto update or scan. I'm having a bit of a senior moment.

Make sure there are no scheduled tasks to run that wake the computer.. Click start button in search field type Task Scheduler, select it, and check for items with the following:
