    dv6000t volume key press locks up pc - Help!

    Can anyone explain to me why lately every time I press the volume up or down keys (the ones at top of laptop that light up) my computer just locks up in a way that I can still move my mouse but nothing I click closes, opens or moves. I can't start any programs and even alt-tab key doesn't work. I can hit ctrl-Alt-Del to get into task manager but once there I can't select or stop anything. The only thing I can do is press power key to start shutdown which shuts down fine. What is going on with my laptop??

    Sounds like a Quick Launch Button issue. I suggest uninstalling your current version and reinstalling the latest version off www.hp.com

    If that doesnt resolve your problem I would try reformatting.

    Hi, I have exactly the same problem on a brand new hp dv9843cl, running win vista sp1, 64-bits. I have no solution, but would like one. Else it goes back to store. I thought that my system's problem was unique.
