About a half pound. Since it has twice the cells, it will have twice the battery life.

12 cell is really nice, lasts about 5 hours. The bump on the bottom acts as a nice carrying handle.

I was just on a flight from the UK (Heathrow) to Miami (MIA) and the laptop lasted about 5 hours. It was a 9 hour flight. I was resizing our pictures we took. They served a snack, so I'd leave it in standby mode, then continue. The battery was down to 10% with about 2 hours left in the flight. By then they served another snack and it was time to get ready for the landing. So the 12 cell is definitely the way to go if you're not moving it all the time.

just imagine another 6-cell sized battery sticking out the bottom of the case in the back. The 12-cell is basically two 6-cells combined.
