When I purchased my dv6000t, there wasn't an option for adding the HP Mobile Remote. I'm think about buying it from HP right now because I do presentation a lot and I think the remote can be a great plus! For those who own it, how's is it? What's the range? I heard its 10 ft. (not very good for most presentations, but I guess for small group presentations it should be okay) How much did it cost to add this option?

it's a cool option and definitely worth it. I had a dv5000 with the remote and it was definitely a nice to have. Works well for playing media like dvd's. it's only about 15-20 bucks so unless you're pinching pennies, i would suggest getting it.

Thanks! I will definitely get one. I have like 15 dollars laying around my desk... might as well spend it. I am having trouble ordering just the remote. Anyone know the exact order page?

I know this is a bit hijackish, but does Costco offer student discounts?

I do not think that CostCo offers student discounts. I am not sure though. I mean, their price is already cheaper than HP...

Costco is the best place to order because of their excellent return policy. As far as price break down goes, here's the list:

    no discount hp.com > costco.com (~$40)
    costco.com > hp.com with APP pricing (~$50 on a DV2000T)
    hp.com w/ APP > costco.com with extended service contracts (~$20 w/ a 2-year)

Yeah, you should grab the HP remote... it is so sweet how it clicks in to the side. It is awesome for powerpoint presentations, too. If you have media center, it is essential IMHO.

You sure about the remote not being an option at the time you placed the order? Who did you order it thru?
