Buy Crucial 1GB DDR2-667 SODIMMs. That's the safest route.

1. Stick with reputable brands such as Kingston, Corsair, Crucial, and OCZ.
2. No idea about coupons. Sorry. -
thanks!....

Yesh, Crucials are pretty good especially for AMD based systems. I ordered a couple of these for my V3000z on Monday, should arrive tomorrow...

its listed for 67.99 now, this is pretty cheap and a good deal. -
I've installed a couple of 1GB PNY's from newegg on the DV6233SE (AMD) and they run without a problem. It even gave a better memory score on vista - 5.1 as opposed to the 4.5 with the original ones. Not sure its the memory speed only but maybe the test is biased when there is actually more of it...can never know with Microsoft.. ;-)

On a different note, has anyone tried one 2GB stick with AMD CPUs yet? I know it's more expensive but it'll be interesting to know if the option exists
-
yea crucial is the most reconizable brand and they are very good -
how about PATRIOT? would this work on AMD dv6000z system? i got an email from newegg.com that it would only cost around $55 per gb after rebate and everything...
anyone tried PATRIOT on their notebook? thanks

The crucial seems to work fine although I noticed it is running single channel even though they are the same size and brand and 2T command rate. Not very ideal but the extra memory really helps Vista and improves performance decent bit. Well worth upgrading to 2GB if you are interested in running Vista.
fdlazarte - You could try these GSkill's... $125 for 2X1GB sticks is a good price...
