Ive had this for about 2 weeks, the problem has been that when i first boot up my computer is doesnt enable my wlan, I have to restart it and then the wlan enables to connect to my network. I have been advised by hp techs to reinstall wlan, update drivers, and still the same results. anyone else having any similar problems

Do you use HP's wireless assistant? Try disabling the wlan before shutdown and re-enabling it after the notebook starts.

no i dont use hp wireless assistant, and just another question in response to your reply, why should i disable it and reenable it, shouldnt it start up all by itself, i am hating this stupid switch all ready have 2 other laptops and neither of them have a switch, never had such problems as with this hp laptop, even my pc which is hp i didnt have any problems with. Possible that its a hardware issue??

If switching it off before shutdown works, then it should be a software issue. My wireless for example, often fails to resume working after standby or hibernation and only a restart helps. Other than that everything is perfect. But you're right, it shouldn't be this way..

I have the same exact problem. I refomatted the hard drive and did a fresh install of all the original software. I did the MS updates but no other software and still the same problem. I think it may be a problem w/ one of the MS updates or possibly a hardware failure?????? Have no clue. I think I'm going to try erasing the HD again reinstall and see what it does w/o MS updates.
