Hi, Just got an HP Pavilion dv6253cl notebook.

In my haste I did not read any XP formatting threads, and did not backup the C:\SWSETUP folder :(

I formatted my notebook taking crappy Vista off, and successfully re-installed XP pro and *most* of the drivers.

The one I can not get in the integrated ethernet to work. I have tried known good ethernet cables to no avail. The broadcom wireless drivers work fine.

In my network connections, I see:
    Broadcom 802.11 b/g WAN
    1394 connection

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since you have the Nvidia 430 chipset, the ethernet should be bundled along with the chipset drivers. Try installing the Nforce chipset drivers and that should enable the ethernet controllers.
