I'm considering getting a dv6500. Looking at pictures of it, the fingerprint reader looks like it will be in the way when typing. If any owners of dv6500 have an opinion on this it would be really helpful.
It seems like it might be more convenient not to have this if it will make typing easier.

Doesn't get in the way at all.
Great feature...I use it all the time for logging in instead of typing.

Get's in the way for me...dont really need it for a home computer...if you use it, then everytime your machine boots up...it wont completely boot up until you login with the fingerprint....

Huh? How would it get in the way? It's a groove into your computer and it's so small, you barely notice it.

Also, you don't need to swipe your finger every time you log in. Only if you set a password for windows will you need to swipe your finger (or type in your password).

Well, it works fine for me and never becomes a pain on my dv 9500.

i didn't like the verisoft software so i don't use mine. it does get in the way occasionally, but not enough to stop you from getting it.

Sooner or later, someone will invent an adhesive mounted flap that will cover the reader when not in use.

I'm not a huge fan of the verisoft software either. It's very intrusive. I'm using it lightly, but I kinda don't know what to do with it.

You can turn off the verisoft feature in the options screen. That way it wont ask you for the single sign on every time you enter a password.
