so I have a dv6500t running windows vista ultimate 64bit and I am having trouble burning any cd or dvd.

The disk drive is an Optiarc DVD RW AD 7530A

Basically what happens is that everything will be burning fine but then around 10-9% everything will stall. Nothing gets written. The drive just makes noise and spins. It will do this upwards for 10min. Then all of a sudden it will start to write again. Then around 45-55% it will stall again just like how it did before. The disk that comes out, however, doesn't work.

I have tried using roxio, cheeta dvd, and powerISO all with no luck. I have used memorex CD-R and TDK DVD+R and both CDR and DVD+R had the same problem.

also according to roxio it never burns at the full 8x speed.

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem or any ideas on how to fix it.

It could just be a hardware problem and I would be very irritated if it is.

    Thanks

Perhaps deleting the ide drivers would help.
