cpu temp 53 idle according to speedfan
isn't that high?

Well I'm assuming that you mean Celsius otherwise I would be wondering how you keep it soo cool on idle
Thats not too bad if it's pretty warm in the room that the notebook is in. If that were a winter time idle temp it may be a slight cause for concern. -
I just installed notebook hardware control - and that says 47
That's better than speedfan -
Well, no program is going to be perfect on the temperatures mostly because of how temp sensors work.
Given the dv6500 is a relatively thin notebook, thus not the best cooling system around, that is fairly good. You only need to really worry if you are in the mid-80s, but the processor can withstand 90-100C without a problem too...but at that temp you need to consider giving your laptop a cool-down breakl. -
What is the average temp for this notebook?
dv6500t cpu temp 53 idle - isn't that high?
