So i've never played computer games so I decided to take a jump into them. I bought this game but I can't seem to get the settings right. Does anybody out there have the same config as I do that could lend me their expertise. Of course I want the game to play as smooth as possible.

What settings did you use? The 8400M GS should be able to handle FSX at medium settings at least.

FSX is very demanding both CPU and GPU wise... and 8400M just doesn't cut it....

Best you can do is install SP1 and SP2...
Do some configuration tweakings (visit fs forums)...
And play with the graphic settings...

    good luck

I dont know to be honest. I'm currently at work so I really can't figure that one out till later tonight. I think I had it at medium. It was still flickering and it has crashed more than once. It crashes and closes the game when I'm in flight and trying to access another view through the short-cut menu. Also the laptop is at it's hottest when I'm playing this game.

I actually just bypassed getting fsx altogether. It in general seems to be a resource hog similar in respect to vista. I put in a 20 buck fs9 and i run it completely maxed without much trouble. I found that I could get alot of the features of fsx by simply adding some aftermarket freeware. avsim.com will get u all the scenery and environment upgrades that match to fsx's caliber. So yeah, I think the best option is to just downgrade to fs9.

Not an option also. I want to be able to use what I have. I mean after I lowered the settings to medium it work fine didn't crash. I just wanted to know if I there was a way to have higher settings with the same OS, Laptop, cpu, gpu and game.

As far as crash goes, you need a better nVidia forceware driver... check out laptopvideo2go.com... guys over there make modded drivers, some of them are pretty stable and offer frame rate boost (not much, very slightly).

When you pick a driver, make sure you read the comments posted in the forum, some drivers may not work nicely with your setup...

    Good Luck...
