    Hey...

I was wondering if anyone knew how to open up the dv6500, or at least how to access the DVD drive... my dvd burner basically sucks. I get unreliable and bad burns on basically all media I have tried - Verbatim (which is said to be one of the best), Memorex and TDK.

I had a dv2000 before and that had a pioneer drive and I got good burns with that one...

Is the drive size standard? Can I simply purchase a new drive and replace the face plate?

    Thanks.

You could just call HP and have them replace it. I assume it's under warranty since it's a dv6500 series.
