Hello everyone, I just got my HP dv6601ax after the insightful review on this site. I must admit that the review was spot on, everything but the screen is awesome. A huge step up from the Acer Aspire 3002 that replaced it (man am I sick of the 30min battery life! and VGA out issues).

Anyway although I am happy with the 1GB of ram since I was originally planning on installing xp on the system..but now I don't know. It runs vista like a dream, but a bit of extra ram would help with games and intensive apps. Laptop ram is incredibly cheap so I was looking to swap the 2x 512DDR2 sticks for 2x1GB sticks. The HP documentation says that the laptop will only support a max of 2GB, however the online memory checks from Kingston and Geil says that my laptop can support 4GB max. I have the Quanta 30D0 motherboard.

Does anyone know what these puppies can support? Would I have any dramas with Geil or Kingston ram?
