My first notebook ever to own and i really like it so far. I have one question. I dont really know how good the pc is. It has Intel® Core(TM)2 Duo Mobile processor, 2GB of ram, and 200 GB hard drive. Does this laptop seem good? Does it look like it needs any upgrades?
-
Which Intel Core 2 Duo processor do you have?
The 2GB RAM is very good as well as the 200GB HDD. -
It's one of the better prebuilt models, but like many that can be purchased from a retail store, it doesn't have a dedicated video card which pretty much means no gaming.
-
Well you could check your Windows Experience Index, that sometimes gives you an idea.
And after looking at that one, it's an okay system.
Core 2 Duo T5250 @ 1.50 GHz
2 GB DDR2 RAM
200 GB 4200 RPM HDD <--- could be waaay better (and I mean WAAAY better, this is one of your weakest points)
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 <--- Could also be WAAAAAAY better (THIS IS DEFINATELY your weakest point)
Not a bad system, not a great one. -
These are the specs for the processor
Processor Platform:Enhanced Intel® Centrino® Duo, Processor:Intel® Core(TM)2 Duo Mobile,Processor Speed:1.5GHz.
What do yall know about the heat on this computer? Im using it just for school work and internet only so you think as long as i keep the fans clean and get a chill pad i will be okay? -
Heat's a non-issue. Without a powerful GPU, the laptop can easily dissipate all the CPU heat in the world.

What kinds of tasks will you be doing with the HP?
Also fill out the FAQ so that we can help you better. -
searching the internet and using microsoft home and student 2007 thats about it.
-
then it will be fine for your needs.
-
Then the system is overkill, well, I would get a cheaper processor and get a faster hard drive.

thats a cool computer. very fast, very efficient, maybe running a little warm (normal) and good looks. congratulations
