First I had a problem w. my dv6700 shutting down intermittently, first after ca 5 minutes of usage, but after every reboot it could work for shorter and short time.

I opened it up to check for dust and lint buildup, but there wasn't much to remove. After reassembly, the screen stopped working. It will boot up (LED's flashing, HD booting etc.) but screen is black.

I am pretty sure I've reattached all cables.

1; what could the reason be for the intermittent shutdowns if not for lint in the fan?

2; what could be the reason that the screen stopped working after reassembly?

Nvidia graphics? They are notorious for failure in this series. You would have to replace the motherboard as the GPU is soldered to it.
