    anyone who is using this notebook tell me , is this notebook noisy? AND does it run really hot?? after how long does it get hot?

    mine is quit. it dose not get too hot unless you put it on something that blocks the vents, blanket or something. my config is on bottom. my brothers is the same no problems.

    oh, what about on lap? like after how long would it feel uncomfortable to put it on lap?

    and any estimate of battery life?

    i never have any problem on my lap. i ger 5 to 6hrs out of a 12cell

    it is a pretty quiet notebook and doesn't get super hot

    I would say the opposite
    I have my 3 yrs old 600m sitting next to it.
    the DV6700t is loud and the fan is always on.
    the HP designer shouldn't write a firmware that turn on the fan all the time!!!!!
