I just recently bought 2 HP dv6768se from Best Buy, and I am having problems with the gigabit ethernet. I am maxing out at about 5 MB/s gigabit to gigabit, and about 700 KB/s gigabit to 10/100. Uploads seem to be unaffected. I get around 50-70 MB/s gigE -> gigE, and about 3-5 MB/s gigE to 10/100. I get the same results with the default factory install, with vista enterprise, and with the Ubuntu 7.10 Live CD. The only thing I can figure is it must be a hardware problem, but where I have 2 of them doing the exact same thing??? I have a couple more days before I have to return them, so I thought I would see if anyone else has seen this or has any more ideas. Also, I have confirmed it is not cabling/switch/server/etc. I have several other computers that I have tested and work fine in that location.

    Thanks in advance,
    DunkTank
