Hi guys, it seems that I'm finding more problems with my dv6t model by the day. I used CPU-Z to check my ram speed and it told me that it was 666mhz. I have 8GB by the way.
Do you guys think it is worth it to ask for a replacement model? I did get the $60 refund for the free 8GB offer, so I guess I might as well purchase 1600mhz ram and use that instead...(I have the 2820m, by the way). What do you guys think?

EDIT: If I were to purchase new RAMs, which one should I buy? I'm leaning towards the Kingston HyperX right now, but I don't know if it might have compatibility problems.

EDIT 2: It has come to my attention that it might just be because I'm missing some drivers. Do you guys know which ones are related to the issue at hand?

I have much more trust in you guys than I do with HP support, by the way :) I'll appreciate any responses even if they don't answer my question!

The ram is DDR (double data rate), you take the speed reported and multiply it by 2 to get the actual speed.

    666*2 = 1332 (1333MHz memory)

No worries, a lot of people dont understand how DDR memory works.

The way DDR memory works (no matter if its DDR, DDR2 or DDR3, etc) is that it transfers data on both the rising edge and falling edge of the clock cycle (so twice per clock), rather than once per clock cycle like old style SDRAM.

I bought the Kingston HyperX 8GB 1866MHz PnP Memory Kit just got it today and it works amazing! And it also runs @ 1866MHz, besides a SDD, this is the best upgrade you could do, my system flies now! You can read the review here.
I highly recommend this kit! :D Also i have a dv7tqe with a 2820, im not sure if it would for with anything below, but it's PnP, so I not completely sure, but it being PnP should work fine in my opinion. :)
