hi i have a dv6t quad edition and i mostly use it as a desktop replacement. the latop it almost always on charge, my question is if this can harm the battery or even the computer. I don't really wan't to take out the battery every time i use it i was just wondering if it's harming the battery.

For previous laptops I used to always keep the battery in, and the laptop plugged in/charging. I then would unplug and get a very low battery life. I now never keep the battery in unless I'm charging it or using it. Once charged I take the battery out and run off the adapter only. Search around, read up on the best way to keep battery life. This way works for me. My old laptop still gave me the same 3+hrs of life after 2yrs.

You should take the battery out when possible, because the extra heat does harm the battery a bit.

Is it actually safe to take the battery out and in while the computer is running?

I'm no expert, but as long as you don't physical hurt the computer taking it out you should be fine.

unless you are clumsy. then you are liable to trip on the cable, accidentally unplug the comp, and lose everything >.>

one of my old laptops has a dead battery so its reliant on adaptor only. I've had this happen to me multiple times despite my best efforts. So uh, i won't be taking my battery out personally, lol.

For people who are less fail at moving than me though, im sure its fine xD
