I received my new hp laptop yesterday and started to play minecraft.

I noticed the game was running at 20 fps so I hit google to find out my answer. I fixed the low fps by changing the bios to fixed graphics card instead of dynamic.

However, now the gpu crashes after 10 seconds of minecraft. I tried researching the problem on google and all the results say to upgrade my driver. I tried to do this but I can't find any drivers for my 7690.

I think this is due to the fact that this driver is very new, but even the amd site doesn't have available drivers.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

    btw, my specs are
    i7 2720QM
    8 gb ram
    160 gb ssd
    Amd radeon hd 7690m xt

    Any help is appreciated

I have a similar situation to yours, I just recieved my dv6z A6 llano w/ 7690 yesterday, and was trying to get the card to overclock. The drivers that were posted above ^ are the latest beta drivers for the 7 series cards. I believe HP and ASUS are the only 2 companies curretly selling them in their notebooks as the others have not released yet so I think it will be a bit before we get an decent driver support. I have been having trouble finding stable drivers outside of what came on the system, generally it seems to read my 7690m as a 6000 series.

you will never be able to install drivers from AMD's site because their drivers dont have support for switchable graphics cards, so forget about amd, what u should do is go to HP's site and check if they have any drivers for ur specific laptop, they take some time update their drivers, they are stable but they dont give u the best performance, thats why most of us prefer having those modded drivers.
