So I got my dv6t fhd yesterday and its awesome. One issue though is the keyboard. So you know the black cut out that surrounds the keys that is inserted into the chasis? Like others, it didn't come snapped in all the way. So I snapped it in all the way around, but while it went it real snug like on the two side edges, on the top and bottom edge (eventhough snapped in) the cutout still raises above the chassis and can me flexed majorly. On the sides, the cutout is flush and a bit below the edge of the chassis, but not on the top and bottom. I am concered about dust and food getting in there. Anyone else having this problem?

I had the identical problem with TWO DV6's, ordered about a month apart. Not snapped in, and even when I pressed it in myself, there were parts of it that never laid flat, so typing on those areas made a lot of noise and had too much movement. HP's QC is very poor.

Anyone else had this issue? Is everyone else's laying flush on the top and bottom?

Don't be so impatient. You posted the thread, got a response, and then 1:36 later you ask again? tacky.

Dude, you need to relax. You're all over this forum and you dont' even have the computer because you returned them both. When I ask for somebody to comment on the keyboard, I expect a CURRENT owner who can actually make CURRENT observations to reply. I appreciate that you took the time to respond, but my comment was specifically saying that I want someone ELSE aside from you to respond.

Listen, no beef here, just don't go getting all snooty. I have my reasons and in this situation you forced me to reveal them, which I didn't want to do because it might have been hurtful

I'm expecting to get a third DV6 as soon as the graphics issue is resolved.

"forced me to reveal them". Are you paranoid? FYI: I didn't "force" you to "reveal" anything.

You might try reinstalling the keyboard. There are 2 screws on the bottom of the machine holding it in (one of them is also holding in the DVD Drive so you'll want to slide that out too.

The dv7tqe 6000 series maintenance guide link is in the modding thread. Just pop out the keyboard and pop it back in, maybe a tab was missed or something.

When popping it back in, you'll want to put your fingers on the edges and slide them around pushing down with firm pressure (not too hard though) it'll pop in all around the top and sides.

So I had to pop it in on all the edges when I first got it, and they in fact all popped into place. The top and bottom though are not totally recessed whereas the sides are recessed and snug.

Feel around on the top of your. Is it actually totally recessed on the top and bottom?
