Hi, I have an HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 quad edition (A1U55AV) and the BIOS is F.16. When I go to the driver downloads for my model the only BIOS available is F.12.

Is the F.16 the wrong BIOS? I'm going to do to a clean install of win7 and need to know if I should install the F.12 BIOS instead.

    So confused.

Almost sounds familiar to what they did for my laptop. I have the HP Pavilion dv7t-6b00 and around March they released a new BIOS F.16 and a couple weeks later they removed it hence making the only available BIOS is F.02. I say if it does not make your computer seem crappy or makes things stop working I would just keep it. I kept the F.16 BIOS and I had no issues.

Okay that makes me feel better, I'm new to HP computers and was worried it was the wrong Bios driver.

The system info says 3/22/2012 next to the Bios driver version when I press the esc+fn keys. I can't help but to wonder why they removed F.16 from the downloads though.

Thank you very much for the information.

    Another question.
Are the fans on these supposed to stay on all the time? I've only used it a couple times so far and the fan is always on, but the speed varies.
