I uninstalled the driver to my fingerprint sensor because it wasn't working since the last windows update, but when I try to install new drivers they don't work. Can someone walk me through the process please?

In addition to installing the Validity fingerprint sensor driver, you will also need to install fingerprint reader software in order to achieve full functionality.

For example, you can download and install the HP SimplePass (DigitalPersona) software. There's a couple of other solutions that you can look into as well.

I'm sorry for the bump, but are you saying that we can use other fingerprint softwares for our fingerprint reader? I dislike SimplePass but I still use it because it's the only thing I know of.

I have HP DM4-1060us with HP SimplePass 7.0.74.0

HP also has SimplePass 2011 (v5.3) which is by Authentec. IMO, it offers less functionality than the DigitalPersona version. Here is the link for version 5.1:

HP SimplePass Identity Protection 2011 Software

Clicking the update link from the "Help and Support" button, will lead you to v5.3 which offers better functionality for FireFox users.
